Our Values

We seek to glorify Christ and make Him known in thought, word and deed. We aim to do this in a variety of ways.

We look to Jesus as our teacher and model, as one who reached out to those on the margins of society and put them at the centre of the narrative. St Peter’s has a history of being inclusive, but now it’s official!
As a member of Inclusive Church we are committed to being a church which welcomes, celebrates and affirms every person and does not discriminate.

Unified in Christ

Jesus calls us to unity.  Being a part of the global Church means that we might not always agree on everything, but there is no denying that Jesus is (and should be) at the heart of each Christian tradition, as the author and perfecter of our faith. As part of Churches Together in Hale, we are pleased to have good links with other churches in the area.

As Jesus calls us to make disciples of all nations, we as the Church are called to look outwards, both locally and internationally.  Our Mission in Action team brings a focus to the missions we support both locally and overseas. 10 per cent of our income goes to these projects.

Our ministry is to and for all ages. We are there for people at every stage of life, from the celebration of baptisms and the blessing of marriage, to  remembering those who have departed this life.

This is very much a work in progress as we strive towards a Bronze Award through the A Rocha UK Eco Church scheme. We have a working group to help us in our efforts. God calls us to be good stewards of His beautiful creation.

What we Believe

As part of the Church of England the Apostles' Creed best articulates what we believe.

The Apostles' Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
He descended to the dead.
On the third day He rose again;
He ascended into heaven,
He is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and He will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.
