The Children’s Society needs our support more than ever

For many years, St Peter’s has held special collections over Christmas in support of The Children’s Society, a charity that gives hope to young people whose lives are overshadowed by abuse, exploitation and neglect. This year hope is under threat in new and complex ways, and the Society, like so many charities, needs our support more than ever. The Vice-chair of Trustees is Bishop Libby Lane. A collection plate will be available at the back of church at every Christmas service, including at our two Christingle services on Wednesday 23 December (a small number of seats may still be available at the 5pm service; to check, please email churchbookings20@gmail.com). Because of social distancing and other restrictions, however, we encourage worshippers to donate online or by cheque. For online donations, please visit The Children’s Society website at https://www.childrenssociety.org.uk. If an online method is not possible, cheques made payable to St Peter’s Hale PCC should be placed in a sealed envelope clearly marked ‘The Children’s Society’ and posted through the letterbox of the St Peter’s Parish Office. Thank you.
