Not just any old iron!

Thank you again to everyone who donated old tools and tool kits, sewing and knitting machines, materials and wool for our Tools with a Mission collection. We’re happy to report that everything is now safely on the first leg of its missional journey. A lovely man with a van came up from Coventry to pick it all up from the Assembly Rooms the other week. He was delighted at the shedload we had gathered and asked if we’d been a collecting point for the whole of Hale and Altrincham. When we said, ‘No, just St Peter’s church,’ he was pretty amazed. The tools will now be refurbished by TWAM volunteers in the UK before being sent by container ship for distribution to colleges and community hubs in countries across Africa, from where they will continue the work of transforming lives through skills training and employment.

TWAM managed to keep refurbishing tools all through lockdown – many volunteers working from home – and is determined not to let current restrictions slow it down. It’s a great charity and well worth our support.

So, if you can, please consider a monetary donation in lieu of our usual retiring collections from church. For more details about the charity and how to give, visit https://www.twam.uk and twam.uk/donate. Thank you.
