The Revd Robin Pye
I was born in Tokyo in Japan but grew up mainly in the North of England. I studied History and Social and Political Science at university. I have a particular interest in the ministry of the church to young people, people who suffer or have suffered from poor mental health and people who want to bring peace with justice to the world.
Before I was ordained, I worked for FC United of Manchester, the fans-owned football club where it was my privilege to coordinate the club’s community and education work. I have also worked as a teacher, an export salesman, a transport planner and a trade union representative. For two and a half years I lived with my family in Istanbul.
I am married to Marian, a civil servant who also plays violin in a ceilidh band and we have two grown up children, Danny, a doctor and Leyla, an engineer, a cat called Millie and five chickens called Ginger, Posh, Sporty, Scary and Baby.
Marian and I like the good things in life; music, dancing, cinema and theatre, walking and going to the seaside and we have an allotment on Wellfield Lane, Hale.
